Wong Jun Bin selected for Commonwealth Youth Games 2017 in Bahamas



A special shout out to Jun Bin!

IBSC is proud to share of the joy of Wong Jun Bin as he is selected to participate in the Commonwealth Youth Games (CYG) 2017 in Bahamas on 18-23 July, 2017.

Jun Bin, who has been a member of IBSC since 2011, has been drafted into the national team recently upon his graduation from Singapore Sports School.

Jun Bin is feeling really excited and has this to say "I am really happy to be selected to participate in this prestigious games. The event I qualify is 400m freestyle, but I hope I will be able to swim my other freestyle events as well. Bahamas is one country I wish to visit with its interesting location in the Caribbean and its varied and colourful culture."

Joining Jun Bin will be other swimming peers from Terengganu (Arvin Shaun) and Selangor (Ng Yi Hao and Angelina Chan).

The CYG are for youth athletes born in the years below :

Men 15-18 years of age (athletes born in 1999, 2000, 2001 & 2002)
Women 14-17 years of age (athletes born in 2000, 2001, 2002 & 2003)

Aquatic is the second of two compulsory events in the Games and 21 medal categories will be up for grabs. The swimming events will be held at Betty Kelly Kenning Swim Complex.
