As we wrap up last weekend’s swim meet, we should be thankful for the parents whose times had been sacrificed for accompanying their children in this 2 days meet. Thank you to the team for their hard work and dedication in terms of volunteering in being judges, time keepers, referees and the swim meet control room operator. Without the team, the competition wouldn’t be possible to happen in the first place.

PADE SUPERSHARKZ SHORT COURSE SPRINT 2021

A total of 113 swimmers recently represented IBSC in the PADE SUPERSHARKZ SHORT COURSE SPRINT 2021, held from 4th-5th December at Pusat Akuatik Darul Ehsan (PADE), Shah Alam with fully complied SOPs.

IBSC swimmers managed to clinch a total of 38 Gold medals, 44 Silver medals and 21 Bronze medals.

This is actually the first meet after being hiatus for at least 20 months due to the pandemic and also many rounds of lock down. Indeed, it’s a warm up session for our swimmers to get back the feel of competition as well as to get back the momentum in the pool.

Our coaches Daniel Bego and Keith Lim who is still the current National Record holder for 50m, 100m and 200m Butterfly and 50m Freestyle respectively also joined in the fun in the meet to inspire the young swimmers.

Our very own superstar swimmer, Muhammad Dhuha Bin Zulkifry swept clean all 9 Golds in style, winning all 9 individual events he participated, with an impressive SCM timing despite all the challenges during pandemic. He was also mentioned and got recognition by SwimSwam, with special highlights on his 50m Freestyle (24.81), 100m Freestyle (53.11), 50m Butterfly (26.30) and 100m Butterfly (57.24) .

Very, very well done to him.

Group 1 Yap Min Shun conquered the Freestyle events winning Gold for 50m and 100m respectively, while adding another Silver in his 50m Butterfly event. Our Group 2 boys, Ho Jia Ming clinched 1 Gold in 50m Backstroke, while  Muhammad Arif Bin Zulkifry and Jareick Cheong won 2 Silver and 1 Bronze respectively.

Another Group 3 boy, Shaun Lee bagged 2 Silver in his pet events, 50m and 100m Breaststroke. Young swimmer, Yap Zhen Kok of Group 4 managed to bring home 1 Gold and 2 Silver.

Our girl, Ashley Ting of Group 1 won herself 3 Bronze medals in 50m & 100m Backstroke and 100m Freestyle. While young swimmer Sheryl Seem of Group 4 won 2 Bronze in 50m & 100m Butterfly.

Despite all the challenges, IBSC swimmers managed to give an impressive fights especially in all the relay events.
