Duran and Tyasara received aid from IBSC's Out-reach Grant

Since the launch of IBSC's Out-reach Grant in 2014, IBSC has never failed to look into the welfare of its members in need.

The objectives of the grant are to :

  • Provide financial support in the form of grants, to partially cover the cost of participation in a swim meet for members of IBSC who is in need of financial aid
  • Support families with financial need or extenuating family circumstances

The financial support scheme has previously helped swimmers realised their medals achievement in SportExcel Junior Swimming Circuits, President Cup and National Age Group swimming championships.

In its continuing effort to help the needy swimmers, the Club has approved a  grant to Duran Yaspi and her sister, Tyasara, to help the siblings in their payments to swimming competitions especially to out-station meets which can be quiet burdensome to the pair. The swim training fees for the siblings have also been waived entirely by the Club for the year.

The father, En Imam Basori, with both visions impaired, is very pleased and grateful with the noble deed of the Club.

We hope Duran and Tyasara will continue to be motivated to excel in their competitive swimming. Duran is a potential development athlete and has recently won 1 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze in the Karnival Bakat Pelapis in Paroi, early this month.

IBSC wishes them all the best.
