Round-Up of SportExcel Leg 1, 2018 in Melaka

Despite many of our top swimmers opted out of an out-station meet, IBSC managed to secure second position in overall position behind Pade Supersharkz with a total of 1651.60 points in SportExcel Junior Swimming Circuit, Leg 1 in Melaka, which has adjourned at Pusat Akuatik Hang Jebat Melaka on 15th April 2018 after a 2-day meet.

IBSC sent a team of 89 swimmers to compete in this event.

The highest points contributor was our youngest superstar, Muhammad Dhuha, Group 4 boy, who contributed 178 points and bagged 5 silver and 1 bronze with his awesome performance.

The second highest points contributor, Ng Zi Syuen, Group 2 girl, reaffirmed her ability in swimming by amassing 155 points to bagged 3 silver and 2 bronze .

Destin Ng Yi Xuan, Group 3 boy, proved to the crowd that he is a better racer now than he has ever been before and lifted up the atmosphere in the swimming centre when he bagged the gold medal in 50m breaststroke with a time of 34.83s quiet nearing his PB clocked in PRAKL Age Group 2018 of 34.81s.

This competition has revealed some potential swimmers especially in Group 3 and Group 4 boys and girls, who demonstrated that their hard training did not go to waste by improving tremendously in their individual PBs.

We hope the swimmers can continue their momentum and perform even better in the Second Leg in Shah Alam and earn a place in the Grand Final in August 2018.

I would like to acknowledge the efforts from my team mates, Vincent Chin, En. Nizar, Coaches, En. Shazali and En. Kamarudin, Chaperones, Ms. Alice Yong, Lily and Pn. Hamilia who have committed their time and effort throughout the 2 days event. I sincerely thanks from the bottom of my heart for the full cooperation and great support from the parents to make this outing a successful one.
