ASUM/NSC/MILO Junior Splash, Leg 2 Achievements

The 2019 ASUM/NSC/MILO Junior Splash, Leg 2 has just concluded last Monday 4th November 2019 at Pusat Akuatik Hang Jebat, Melaka.


With the absent of a number of strong swimmers for this outstation meet, IBSC swimmers still managed to earn commendable second place in overall points for this 3 days event.

Teo Zun Jet, 12 amassed the highest point for our club by winning 2 Gold, 1 Silver and 3 Bronze for his individual events. He was also one of the great contributors by helping his team mates to sweep all the 4 Gold in Group 3 Boys Team Relay Events.

Our well known pocket rocket swimmer, Yap Zhen Kok, once again proved to us that size doesn’t matter when he clinched 2 Silver and 4 Bronze in his individual events. He later made a clean sweep for all the 3 Gold medal in Group 5 Boys Relay Events with his team mates Gabriel Kwong, Ashton Low and Choo Diven. Bravo Zhen Kok.

Choo Diwen, 8, displayed his superb performance in his breast stroke with his achievement of Silver in 100m Breast and Bronze in 50m Breast.


Aniq Muqri, 12 displayed awesome power in his swimming ability when he claimed 3 Silver in his individual events, 50 Breast, 50 Free and 100 Breast.

Our PRAKL female swimmer, Teo Sze Hui, 14 clinched Silver in her favourite 100 Breast and 2 Bronze in 50 Breast and 100 Back. Her focus training proved to have paid off.

Up-coming performer Jolin Ong Shuk Xien, 14, another pint sized female swimmer, displayed her real potentials in the pool when she won Silver in 50 Breast and Bronze in 100 Breast.

Meanwhile, David Lee Boon Wei, 11 did excellently well in the Boys Group 3 200IM event by winning the Bronze medal with a new PB’s of 2:38.83. His superb performance proved that being a year disadvantage is no barrier to him.

Chan Xian Ang, 12 clinched an unexpected Bronze in Boys Group 3 50m Butterfly with a new PB’s of 30.42.

Our future star Gabriel Kwong, 7 managed to beat his senior rivals and clinched Silver in his favourite event 50m Fly in Boys Group 5.

Ho Jia Xuen, 10 having a good advantage in his heights, won Bronze in his 100m Breast and shaved his PB’s to 1:26.04. He later teamed up with his mates, Chin Yu Kean, Matthew Goo and Lem Yi Chern to win 2 Silver and 1 Bronze in the Boys Group 4 Team Relay Events.

Congratulations to all the medalists and those swimmers who managed to improve their PBs. Swimmers achievements are tabulated below.


Once again I would like to take this opportunity to thank our coaches, Coach Kamal and Coach Daniel Lee, Team Manager Mr. Ho, Chaperone Madam Lily and all parents who supported the team in this event whole-heartedly and made it a successful one. Cheers!
