We appreciate the attendance of swimmers at IBSC's Team Briefing for the ASUM/NSC/MILO Junior Splash Swim 2018 - LEG 1 held this morning, 06 May, 2018.

Just to recap the important points :

Sessions & Warm-Up Time

The competition sessions are as follows :

Day 1 - Friday, 11th May, 2018 @ 8:30 am.
Day 2 - Saturday, 12th May, 2018 @ 8:30 am. (subject to change to 8:00 am)

The pool will be opened for warm-up at 7:00 am.

Scratching/Withdrawal of Events

If you wish to scratch any events, please inform the Team Manager, Mr Vincent or Mr CK Wong immediately or before 8 May 2018 as cancellation of event is NOT allowed on the day of competition.

Team Attire for Swimmers & Parents

The team attire will be as follows:

If you do not have any of the above t-shirts, you may wear any IBSC T-shirts or similar colour tees.

Meals and Refreshments

Snacks and lunches will be provided by IBSC to the swimmers for the 3 days. Please bring your own supply of water tumblers.

If swimmers plan to skip lunch for any reason, please do inform the Chaperone so that your food is not pre-ordered and wasted. All swimmers are obliged to collect their own lunches before the cut off of 2:00pm each day. Uncollected lunch will be redistributed to avoid wastage.

Discipline

Displaying good sportsmanship is vital in any sporting event. The EXCO expects all swimmers to carry the good name of IBSC during the swim meet. All swimmers are to respect each other including your competing peers and adhere to the rules and regulations of the meet and instructions of the Team Managers/officials and coaches.

Please also be reminded that the diving platforms and springboards are out of bounds. Do not be playful around the pool deck or marshal area to avoid any untoward incidents. Any delinquent swimmer can be subject to disciplinary action.

Parking

Parents are advised to park their cars at Parking C or D as vehicles are not allowed into the aquatic area.

Introducing Angelfish Squad Program

To help promote swimming as a sport to the special kids and eventually develop them to para swimming, IBSC and PRAKL are pleased to introduce the AngelFish Squad program.

With the experience and passion from our trained Coach Aswaie who has been involved in training children with special needs for years, we will ensure the Angelfish Squad gets the required attention they needed.

Class schedule is three (3) times weekly on :
Monday, Friday (4:30 pm to 5:45 pm); and
Saturday (9:00-10:15 am).

2018 SportExcel Junior Swimming Circuit, Leg 2 - Shah Alam, Invite

Kindly note that the invite for 2018 SportExcel Junior Swimming Circuit, Leg 2 has been received from the organiser, PRAS, Persatuan Renang Amatur Selangor and the competition will be held as follows :

Date of Reckoning : 1 January, 2018

Presentation of Malaysia All Stars Swim Caps

Notice to IBSC swimmers,

Kindly note that a presentation of Malaysia All Star Swim Caps will be held this Saturday (28 April 2018) after training at 8:30 am at Cheras pool to IBSC state swimmers & PRAKL squad by the KL coaches.

Round-Up of SportExcel Leg 1, 2018 in Melaka

Despite many of our top swimmers opted out of an out-station meet, IBSC managed to secure second position in overall position behind Pade Supersharkz with a total of 1651.60 points in SportExcel Junior Swimming Circuit, Leg 1 in Melaka, which has adjourned at Pusat Akuatik Hang Jebat Melaka on 15th April 2018 after a 2-day meet.

IBSC sent a team of 89 swimmers to compete in this event.

The highest points contributor was our youngest superstar, Muhammad Dhuha, Group 4 boy, who contributed 178 points and bagged 5 silver and 1 bronze with his awesome performance.

The second highest points contributor, Ng Zi Syuen, Group 2 girl, reaffirmed her ability in swimming by amassing 155 points to bagged 3 silver and 2 bronze .

Destin Ng Yi Xuan, Group 3 boy, proved to the crowd that he is a better racer now than he has ever been before and lifted up the atmosphere in the swimming centre when he bagged the gold medal in 50m breaststroke with a time of 34.83s quiet nearing his PB clocked in PRAKL Age Group 2018 of 34.81s.

This competition has revealed some potential swimmers especially in Group 3 and Group 4 boys and girls, who demonstrated that their hard training did not go to waste by improving tremendously in their individual PBs.

We hope the swimmers can continue their momentum and perform even better in the Second Leg in Shah Alam and earn a place in the Grand Final in August 2018.

I would like to acknowledge the efforts from my team mates, Vincent Chin, En. Nizar, Coaches, En. Shazali and En. Kamarudin, Chaperones, Ms. Alice Yong, Lily and Pn. Hamilia who have committed their time and effort throughout the 2 days event. I sincerely thanks from the bottom of my heart for the full cooperation and great support from the parents to make this outing a successful one.
