(VOVworld) – Vietnam has topped the table at the 5th ASEAN School Games with 50 gold medals, followed by Malaysia. The event attracted 1.500 athletes from 8 delegations competing in 9 sports. Ngu Duy Anh is deputy head of the organizing board: “The Games has left a deep impression on all participating delegations. Everyone is satisfied with Vietnam’s preparations and hosting of the event.”

During the Games, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan held a reception for the delegation heads. He thanked the ASEAN Schools Sports Council for choosing Vietnam to host this event. He said that the sports activities organized by the Council had helped to strengthen mutual understanding among students and develop school sports movements in Southeast Asia.
