Desmond Ng sprung up a pleasant silver in his first SUKMA debut


To Desmond Ng, 14, SUKMA 2014 may be his first debut but it doesn't stop him from realising his dream of fighting for a medal, no matter what colour it may be.

With high competitive spirit, Desmond is not afraid to try and this he did in 200m breaststroke on day 3 of SUKMA in Kangar, Perlis.

During the preliminary heats Desmond qualified with a time of 2:33.51. Later in the evening finals, Desmond went all out in his favourite event and even out-beat Shaun Yap (Sel) when he swam hard to grab the silver at an impressive time of 2:24.38, shaving 3 seconds off his personal best. Ahead of him was Wong Fu Kang (Jhr) 2:21.20, whilst Shaun Yap managed bronze with a time of 2:26.15.
