Ian James Barr, the Captain of the Wilayah contingent in SUKMA 2014, swam with confidence in Kangar, Perlis amidst the roofless pool to secure 2 gold in his pet events, the 200m IM and 50m backstroke.

In the 200m IM, Ian came first when he clocked 2:07.78 finishing with a wide gap ahead of Wong Fu Kang (Jhr) 2:12.12 and Tan Yean (Png) 2:12.27.

In his 50m backstroke, Ian triumphed with a victorious time of 27.05 followed closely by his junior, Keith Lim at 27.48. The third place fell to Wong Tzi Rok (Sel) who did 27.79.
As a national swimmer, Ian is limited to participate in 2 individual and 2 relay events only.

Together with the Wilayah team mates, the city boys also secured silver in the 4x100m medley relay with a time of 3:55.85 slightly slower than the Selangor winning time of 3:54.06.
