TEAM IBSC has had an enjoyable away meet last week at the new SUKMA pool in Pusat Akuatik Amanjaya, Ipoh, Perak as the team and accompanying parents ventured up north for the Perak Invitational Age Group Swimming Championship 2018.
Held for 3 days on 20 - 22 July, 2018, the meet attracted some 480 participants from 29 clubs.
IBSC only sent 58 swimmers to this meet and despite being the third largest team in the competition, the awesome performances of swimmers pushed the team's position to the top of the table with medals tally of 31 gold, 23 silver and 20 bronze.
Well done once again team IBSC for bringing home 74 medals!
The overall best performer is non other than Muhd Andi Farhan, 14, who was unrivaled with the achievement of 8 gold and 2 silver in the 10 events he entered. He renewed 6 personal best times in the meet.

Meherwan Patel, from Pakistan, who returned to Malaysia for a summer camp and also Nitesh Anbazhagan who traveled from UK for a break, also took the chance to experience the Ipoh meet and they are glad to be part of the supportive swim team.
Thanks to all the various coaches involved in bringing about the excellent performances and progress of the swimmers. Many swimmers have recorded new PBs and slashed times especially on the mid and long distance events. The individual results performance have been distributed via Whats App chat group.
Special mention to Coach Kamal and Coach Hisham for accompanying the competitors to the competition venue and guiding them throughout.
Needless to say, the excited parents also ceased the opportunity to sample street food and some famous delicacies in Ipoh too.
Great team work also goes to chaperone and team manager in managing the team. Mr CK Wong & Mr Teo Jr deserve the credit for the action photos. Bravo!
