IBSC swimmers top notch performance at Milo/PRAKL Age Group Swim 2020

The MILO/PRAKL Age Group Swimming Championship 2020 was held for 3-days on 10th - 12th January, 2020 at Kompleks Renang Kuala Lumpur with 819 swimmers competing from 14 clubs and schools.

Congratulations to all IBSC swimmers and coaches for achieving great results and improvement in PBs. Many of the IBSC swam for their respective schools, hence results were split, not to mention some elite swimmers were exempted from the qualifying meet. Nevertheless, IBSC collected 59 gold, 59 silver and 52 bronze which in total amount to 170 medals.

IBSC also has one of the most representations of 59 swimmers who managed to swim to merit time and were considered for the forthcoming 56th MILO/PRAM Malaysia Invitational Age Group Swimming Championship (MIAG 2020) to be held on  5th-8th March 2020.

Muhd Dhuha broke 20-year 50m freestyle meet record in PRAKL Age Group 2019

The annual PRAKL Age Group Swimming Championship 2019 attracted the most number of participants this year with 877 swimmers from KL clubs and schools joining the qualifying meet to qualify themselves to MIAG 2019.

The 3-day meet was held at Kompleks Renang Kuala Lumpur from 19th to 21st Jan, 2019 with team IBSC registering 252 swimmers from various age groups.




IBSC faced stiff competition with the lack of girls swimmers, managed commendable wins from the boys group, albeit insufficient to square off the medals shortfall.

IBSC's star performer is non other than Muhd Dhuha Bin Zulkifry, 10, as he stunned the stadium with 7 meet records under his belt in 10 events he swam in which he triumphed with an impeccable 10 gold score.

Muhd Dhuha scored a perfect 100% performance with 10 gold 

Of the many meet records Dhuha has broken, the most astounding one is the 50m freestyle record which has stood stagnant for 20 years, charted by Yuichi Shima, also a IBSC swimmer, in 1999. Dhuha renewed the 2 decade time of 30.23 with a faster time of 29.36 in the Group 4 boys category. Congratulations to Dhuha for such awesome performance.

Meanwhile, siblings Jackson Khiew and Steve Khiew, both also achieved great results with Jackson scooping 6 gold, 1 silver & 1 bronze with a clean 6 meet records in the Open category. Steve matched with 8 gold and 1 bronze and 4 meet records in the Group 1 boys even though he did not taper for the competition.

Nurlatifa Zahra also won a hat-trick in getting 3 meet records, 3 gold coupled with 4 silvers in Open Girls.

Harry Chong and Kevin Lim each pocketed a meet record in their forte events.
