Invitation to SportExcel Jr Swimming Circuit Leg 1, 2022 at Shah Alam

Invitation is received from Persatuan Renang Amatur Selangor (PRAS) for the participation of the following event: 

Event : SPORTEXCEL / MILO / NSC / MAS Junior Swimming Circuit, 1st Leg 2022

Date : 12th – 13th March 2022

Venue : Pusat Akuatik Darul Ehsan, Shah Alam, Selangor (PADE)

Organizer : Persatuan Renang Amatur Selangor (PRAS)

Auspices : Malaysia Swimming Federation(MAS)

Rules : FINA Rules Applies

Age of Reckoning : As of 1st January 2022

Entries : No limit to the number of swimmers per event (see note on foreign participation)

IBSC Closing Date : 5.00pm on Monday, 14th February 2022

Foreign Participation

Foreign students currently residing in Malaysia are allowed to participate to take timings subject to the following conditions : 

1) The foreign students are on "exhibition swim" only and only to have their time taken.  

2) They are allowed to participate in the first and second leg only.

3) There will be no accumulation of points, any form of prize money (individual or school),  medals or certificates to be given to them.  

4) They will pay the entry fees accordingly.      

5) The schools / clubs who have foreign swimmers participating have to declare these swimmers to the organizers for their further action. 

Qualifying Times Apply

A penalty of RM20.00 per event will be imposed on the swimmer who does not swim within the Qualifying Time.

Muhd Dhuha awarded Group 4 Boys Age Group Champion in SportExcel Grand Final 2019

The cheers of IBSC led by our senior swimmers was a great opening roar to the SportExcel Grand Final 2019 which was held at IBSC homeground, Kompleks Renang Kuala Lumpur Cheras on the 3rd and 4th August, 2019.

A total of 38 IBSC swimmers qualified to the SportExcel Grand Final 2019. The format for the Grand Final involving preliminary heats as qualifying round to the afternoon finals, was a good exposure to the swimmers to test their endurance, focus, stamina and psychological strength.

Day 1 - Qualifiers adorned with red/black T-shirts earned by them 

Day 2 - Qualifiers looking smart in turquoise blue 

The preliminaries was started at 9:00 am under a hot morning sun for both days and resumed at 3:00 pm under a blazing hot and dry weather for the finals.

The overall club champion was determined by the total points gained by the swimmers. Only swimmers who qualified to the finals in the evening sessions were awarded with points. IBSC managed to grab the second spot on the table with 266 points despite only having 18 swimmers were qualified to the finals in the evening sessions for both days.  

The top performer for IBSC was Muhammad Dhuha who managed to clinch 7 golds and 1 silver in all 8 events for the finals. What is astounding is that he  broke 50m fly meet records for 10&U twice. Dhuha clocked 30.91s in the preliminary heat in the morning of day 1 to erase his own previous record of 30.93s. Later in the afternoon final, he further eliminated his prelim record to a better PB of 30.67s. With the performance he displayed during the meet, he was awarded with 10&U Boys Age Group Champion. Congratulations to Muhammad Dhuha.

Muhammad Dhuha was awarded with the Overall Champion for Boys 10&U.

Another top performer for IBSC was Ng, Zi Syuen who managed to clinch 3 golds (50m Back, 100m Back and 100m Breast) and 1 silver (50m free) in the Girls group 13-14 yrs.   

The other IBSC swimmers who were able to contribute to the medals are:

1) Ho, Jia Ming (Bronze-50m Free, Boys 11-12 yrs)

2) Medhavinz Ravindran (Silver-100m Breast, Bronze-50m Breast, Boys 13-14 years)

3) Muhammad Arif (Bronze-100m Free, Boys 11-12 yrs )

4) Ng Lee Sze (Bronze-100m Back, Girls 11-12 yrs )

5) Tobin Sia Xianhua (Bronze 100m Fly Boys 11-12 yrs)

35 IBSC swimmers advanced to SportExcel Grand Final on 3-4 August, 2019

Congratulations to the swimmers who have made the cut as the top 24 swimmers for each event competed at the recent Leg 1 & 2 of the SportExcel Junior Swimming Circuit 2019, held in Shah Alam and Ipoh respectively.

Those who qualify for the final leg will be able to try their best to grab some medals and points at the forthcoming SportExcel Junior Swimming Circuit - Grand Final 2019 at Kompleks Renang Kuala Lumpur, Cheras on 3-4 August, 2019 (Sat & Sun).

From the pool of qualifiers, there are 35 IBSC swimmers who succeeded in booking their lanes in the Grand Final 2019. Great job to the swimmers and the Club hopes that the swimmers will cease the opportunity to better their PBs in due course.

IBSC qualifiers below enjoy free entry fees to the Grand Final as an added incentives to them.

Those who are in a tie position for 24th place will be required to swim-off before the start of the race on day 1.

Dhuha broke 2 meet records in Ipoh during SportExcel Leg 2

The recently concluded SportExcel Leg 2 at Pusat Akuatik Tuanku Zara, Ipoh on the 22nd to 23rd June 2019 was a much awaited event for swimmers to gain maximum points for them to qualify to the SportExcel Grand Final which will be held on the 3rd to 4th August 2019.

With a number of strong swimmers shying away from an outstation meet, IBSC swimmers still managed to collect a total of 30 medals comprising of 10 gold, 10 silver and 10 bronze for the 2 days meet to finish second on the table.

As far as the Grand Final is concerned, the medals tally is of less significance since the selection for qualified swimmers will be based on the total points accumulated by the swimmers in both Legs. Only top 24 swimmers will be selected in each event to advance to the Grand Final in August 2019.

A big shout out to Ng Zi Syuen (Girls Category) and Muhammad Dhuha (Boys Category), both are able to retain their top spot in the 2nd Leg with 182 points and 189 points respectively.

Dhuha who has aimed to break the butterfly records has made his wish come true by springing up new faster times of 30.93 for 50m butterfly and 1:08.13 for 100m butterfly, erasing both 2017 records.

Congratulations Dhuha for such an awesome effort!

IBSC topped the table in 2019 SportExcel Leg1 with 14 gold

A big shout out to team IBSC! We have done it again being top of the table winning 14 gold, 6 silver and 6 bronze at the SportExcel Leg1 in Shah Alam on 13-14 April, 2019.

We couldn't have done it without the spectacular performances of our IBSC champions, namely Ng Zi Syuen and Muhd Dhuha who both have scooped the most points in the junior circuit.

Ng Zi Syuen, had a great outing in Leg 1 with 6 gold and 2 silver in her hands

An unassuming Dhuha, always managed to pull golden surprises in his race. Dhuha swept clean 8 solid gold in the 1st Leg.

Congratulations to all medalists and again new motivation is boosted for swimmers who have achieved new PBs. Keep up the good job, both swimmers and coaches!

Big thanks to the working committee, Vincent Chin, Mr. Ho, May, Yen Ling, and parents Amelia and Lisa who helped out during the 2 days meet.

The first leg is now completed and we hope more will participate in the away meet of Leg 2 in Ipoh soon, as IBSC will be rewarding swimmers with incentives for their points accumulated from both Legs.
