The medal count after the 3 days event are tabulated below, with Thailand claiming the overall champion title after winning 32 gold, 34 silver and 33 bronze. Malaysia with only a contingent of 10 swimmers, mostly junior ones, did magnificently well too after bringing home 14 gold, 10 silver and 10 bronze.
Our KL team, accompanied by IBSC Head Coach, Coach Shazali, was represented by Bonnie Tan Rou Ying, Wong Jun Bin and Tan Gin Yu with their medals collection as follows :
Tan Rou Ying (Girls 12 & Under)
Gold - 400m freestyle (4:41.45); 200m IM (2:29.47); 200m freestyle (2:14.20); 100m freestyle (1:01.13)
Bronze - 50m freestyle (28.43)
Wong Jun Bin (Boys 12 & Under)
Gold - 200m freestyle (2:04.55); 1500m freestyle (17:22.63)
Silver - 100m freestyle (58.16)
Bronze - 400m freestyle (4:24.30); 100m butterfly (1:04.24)
Tan Gin Yu (Boys 15-17)
Bronze - 200m butterfly (2:07.96)
The other Malaysian contingents who have also contributed to the medals collection were Nadia Andrianna and Asmalia Filzati Redzuan (both girls 12 & Under), Wong Fu Kang and Welson Sim (both boys 13-14) and Yap Siew Hui (girl 13-14).
CONGRATULATIONS to all of them and also the whole Malaysian team led by Team Manager, Ms Mae Chen, for achieving such a great feat in this away meet.
