Steve netted 5th gold in concluding day of race

Steve Khiew concluded the final day of swimming at Thailand Age Group 2017 by netting the last gold in his 200m IM under Group2 boys yesterday.

Earlier in the preliminary heats, Steve was in third placing with a time of 2:20.10 to book a place in the finals, with top 2 placing available to foreigners only. Later in the determining race, he swam his best time of 2:13.05 shedding more than 2 seconds off his PB to claim gold. Trailing behind was Hong Kong swimmer, Benson Wong (2:16.13) who got silver and a Thai swimmer settled for bronze at 2:16.28.



The game concluded yesterday with Team Malaysia, consisting of only 4 swimmers, bringing home 6 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze contributed all team members.  Steve Khiew triumphed with 5 gold collection.

Congratulations to all winners, Steve Khiew, Sebastian Soon, Chan Jun Jian and Low Ken Ji for their commendable achievements in this outing. Credits also to KL coach, Coach Zhang Hongbo and chaperon, Ms Carrina Goh, for accompanying the team to Bangkok.
