The monsoon season did not hamper Team IBSC from travelling from Kuala Lumpur to Kuala Terengganu as the urge to win back the Champion Trophy for the President Cup 2012 was much too great. IBSC may not be the largest contingent in the swim meet but the team spirit was stronger than the wave at the east coast.
Team IBSC was represented by 68 swimmers including retired swimmers Chan Kah Yan and Shahir Sulaiman. With collective team effort, at the end of the 3-day competition, IBSC has amassed a total of 1454.5 points to claim back the trophy once again for the 15th time. The first runner-up was last year's defending champion, PADE Supersharkz with 649.5 points whilst Penang Swimming Club got third placing with 408.5 points.

A total of 6 new records were achieved during the meet, one of which was by Bonnie Tan Rou Ying. Bonnie broke her own record in 50m backstroke of 33.14s by achieving a new time of 32.43s in the girls age 12 category.

The 3-day championship has taken a toll on parents and supporters who either drove or flew all the way from KL to support the team, but the effort was well worth it and truly rewarding.
IBSC and its committee appreciate all the hard work of the coaches in nurturing the swimmers to a good standard of quality in bringing about the success in this President Cup. The President of IBSC, Mr Teo Mua Seng congratulated the swimmers and also thanked the parents and supporters in rendering their help and relentless support during the 3-day meet.
